Dear John Complete Family Pack

Any letter ever written by a woman wanting to express her love to a man who happened to have the name John, always begins with the words: Dear John,...Since there are probably more Johns in the world than fellows who go by any other name, and since more typewritten letters began with those words than by any other, it seemed that Dear John might be an appropriate name for a cool typewriter font family. Dear John was designed to be a companion family to Writing Machine and a cheaper and better solution for mimicing typewriter text. While some characters are also found in and adapted from those in Writing Machine, these fonts provide the user with alternate character sets, some of which set more cleanly and others which set with more of a stagger. These letterforms were scanned from actual typewriter pages and then manipulated for effect. The Regular and Oblique fonts in this family set more cleanly than any of our other typewriter mimicing fonts. If you wish to create a more stressed look with baseline shifts and unequal weight distribution, we recommend using the Uneven fonts. If you want to simulate real typewriter text you might try the following techniques: (1) Don''t colour the type pure black. Use shades of grey with a a brown tinge to create an authentic look. (2) Avoid placing two identical letters side by side (such as the tt in letters). Mix and match your typewriter fonts to create a more truly analog look to the set type. The regular and uneven characters in Dear John can be used interchangeably, as can letters from our other typewriter fonts: Double Hitter, Keystoned and Romanstoned which exhibit more extreme character flaws. If you don''t have any of these additional families, you can also create variation in identical characters by adding a baseline shift to one of the letters. 3) Angle some of the lines of type in order to simulate the action of the set type when the paper slips in the typewriter carousel.(4) Make some typos and correct them by typing
